If you are planning a garden this year this would be a good time to think about keeping it watered. I use a 275 gallon cistern to store water. This is great to use during the dry season.
During the downturn of the economy you may want to be prepared to raise some of your own food. You can do this in a small space or use containers. What ever you choose the reward will be fresh vegetables and only a few steps from your backdoor.
It is easy to grow a salad mixture with very little space. Also herbs can be grown with little maintenance.
Give it a try. You will be surprised what you can do and if you have more than what your family needs, share with your friends and neighbors.
